Medical Review Policy

Bladder health is a medical topic, so we hold our content to a high standard. Here is how it is created and checked.

Who writes our content

Our educational content is written by credentialed clinicians. Men's health content is written by Michael K. Valentine, M.S., a pelvic floor physical therapist. Women's and general content is written by Kathryn Gallardo, M.S., a urology nurse practitioner.

Who reviews it

Our educational and condition content is medically reviewed for accuracy by Ana F., MD, MD, Board Certified in Family Medicine, with 25 years of clinical experience. Reviewed articles display a "Medically reviewed by" line with the reviewer's name and the date.

How product reviews work

Our product reviews are written by our clinical authors and are clearly labeled, with an affiliate disclosure. To keep recommendations honest, product reviews are evaluated on real-world usefulness, and any claims about a supplement reflect the manufacturer's own published research, attributed as such. We do not make claims that a product cures or treats any medical condition. Our medical reviewer reviews educational content, not commercial product pages.

Our sourcing standards

  • We cite authoritative primary sources (such as the NIH, NIDDK, and major medical centers) where relevant.
  • We distinguish established evidence from emerging or manufacturer-reported findings.
  • We review and update content as guidance changes.

Important

All content is for general education and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always talk to a qualified healthcare provider about your own situation.
